Mission Statement
The UNC Charlotte Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program develops healthcare leaders prepared to advance health equity and well-being in an urbanizing world.
We pursue our mission through education, research, and service that:
- Gives students the knowledge, skills, and values needed to lead dynamic health systems.
- Creates knowledge needed to lead people and organizations providing health services.
- Increases the diversity of health services leaders, with a special emphasis on individuals and groups historically underrepresented in graduate education.
- Promotes the public’s health.

The UNC Charlotte Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program is to be the premier program in developing healthcare leaders who promote healthy communities partnered with responsive population health systems.

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at UNC Charlotte is an interdisciplinary program designed for administrators in a changing health care environment. Attentive to the specific needs of our students, the program addresses the academic and professional expectations of those seeking to establish careers in the field as well as those currently employed in health care administration. Our graduates demonstrate competence across the core health administration domains of leadership, critical thinking, health administration sciences, and quantitative analysis, management, political and community stakeholder development, and communication.
Applications for the Summer/Fall semesters are due February 15; applications received by May 1 will be considered on a space-available basis. Our MHA Handbook, linked below, describes the application process and the program in detail. The Handbook supplements the information on our website. We encourage interested applicants to download and review our Handbook.
