Public Health Experience: I was fortunate to get accepted for an internship position at Stepping Stone, a child advocacy and sexual assault center, for Spring 2023. In my role as a community intern, I helped assist in child abuse investigations and provided ongoing support services to victims and their non-offending family members. Daily, I worked with a team of investigators, counselors, and family support groups to problem-solve and navigate resources for recovery. During my time volunteering for CHSI (The Center for Health and Social Issues), I implemented programs in the community that focused on diabetes and breast cancer awareness. I was also able to work with peers and community residents of different ethnicities, age groups, and backgrounds. During this time, I realized how much I enjoyed hands-on work and interacting with different community members on a day-to-day basis.

Why I chose the MPH program at UNC Charlotte: I believe the course content at UNC Charlotte will be a great foundation for my future aspirations and goals. I am excited to be in a new learning environment with others who are passionate about the program.
