Getting Involved

The Graduate Public Health Association (GPHA) is the graduate student organization of all graduate-level public health programs at UNC Charlotte. The purpose of GPHA is to provide an atmosphere that supports graduate students interested in public health jobs in advancing their academic and professional goals, ambitions, and careers.

The Graduate & Professional Student Government (GPSG) serves as the primary representative body of graduate and professional students at UNC Charlotte. The organization is designed to meet the academic, social, and logistical needs of the graduate and professional student body, totaling more than 5,400 students, and all of the registered Graduate Student Organizations.

GPSG Graduate Research Symposium

The annual Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) is an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference that showcases the astounding research of graduate and professional students. All graduate students who are conducting or have conducted research are encouraged to present at the GRS.

Niner Engage

Niner Engage is a great resource for discovering various opportunities, such as joining student organizations, attending events, and staying informed about campus activities!

Travel Funding

GPSG Travel Fund

GPSG sets aside a certain amount of its funding each year to help graduate students travel to academic and professional conferences that benefit their education while positively representing UNC Charlotte at these events.

MPH Program

When able, the MPH Program supports student conference travel. A limited number of students attend the American Public Health Association Annual Conference each year. The call for applications for support is sent out during the summer to current MPH students. Other conference opportunities are also supported. However, funding is not guaranteed.

The Graduate School

The Graduate School has many resources for funding graduate education. They also post travel funding opportunities periodically, so be sure to check back often!
